This workshop is for yoga teachers and practitioners alike. For yoga teachers, it is important to be well equipped with the basic knowledge for guiding and empowering a pregnant yoga student on her mat. As yoga practitioners, it is important to understand how pregnancy can affect our yoga practice. In this 3 hour workshop, offered as part of our BRY 200 hour teacher training but open to the public as well, teachers will learn creative ways to accommodate pre- and post-natal women in existing vinyasa flow yoga classes and students will learn how to safely practice yoga during pregnancy.
Whether a teacher or a student, in this important workshop you will: Learn about the changes that happen to pregnant yoga students' bodies during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters Learn what the 4th trimester (post-partum) can look and feel like for the new mothers Learn and practice safe and effective ways to use props to support pregnant students, or yourself. Learn and practice appropriate hands-on adjustments and verbal cues specific to ensuring a safe and effective practice for pregnant students, or yourself. This workshop will allow the space for you as a yoga teacher or practitioner, to understand the anatomy of pregnancy and methodology for guiding or participating in, a safe, yet strong vinyasa flow class.
