Bird Rock Yoga-tiquette
- Honor the beginning of each class by arriving early enough to sign in and get settled without disrupting those around you.
- Turn off cell phones and pagers before coming to class.
- Remove shoes before walking on the carpet (cubbies are provided).
- Please remove socks and practice barefoot on sticky mats in order to prevent injury.
- Allow 2-3 hours after light meals and longer after heavy meals if possible, to allow food to digest and the stomach to be as empty as possible.
- Comfortable, unrestrictive clothing such as cotton and lycra pants or shorts are ideal for maximizing mobility during a class.
- Please avoid wearing strong perfumes and colognes to class.
- Everyone is encouraged to use their own mats, however, yoga mats and props are available at the studio for use.
- Please advise the instructor of any special health conditions, injuries, or pregnancy at the beginning of class, as certain postures may be more appropriate.
- Depending on your cycle, we recommend avoiding inverted postures during menstruation. Please ask an instructor for advice and alternatives.
- Once the class has ended, please respect the energy of those around you.
